Alice June Smith

March 3, 1937 - November 23, 2018

Alice June Smith, 81 of New Martinsville departed this life on Friday, November 23, 2018 in J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.  She was born on March 3, 1937 in Marion County a daughter of the late Charles H. and Edna M. Snodgrass Taylor.  On November 2, 1957 she married Danny D. Smith Sr. who preceded her in death on July 2, 2008.   Surviving is one son, Danny D. Smith Jr. New Martinsville, JuDeen Cox and husband Richard, Buckhannon, Dena Smith, Enterprise, one sister, Glendora Headley and husband Don, Fairview, grandchildren, Greg Hamilton, San Diego, Amanda Currey and husband Ryan, West Union, Cassie Underwood, Wheeling, Jamie Anderson, Moundsville, one great grandson, Daniel Underwood.  One sister also preceded her in death.   June was co-owner of Dan's Auto Sales for 35 years and co-owner of Ashley Campgrounds for 41 years.  She was a former member of Hundred United Methodist Church and was a member of Cascara United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading and was a woman of faith.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.   Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Doug Warder presiding.  Interment will follow in the Salem I.O.O.F. Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 after 10:30 a.m. until time of service.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Smith family.
