Nina Pauline (Maxson) Nutter, 91, of Salem passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport. She was born in West Union on December 23rd, 1927 the daughter of the late Ferrell “Jack” Maxson and Emily (Frashure) Maxson. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila “Paulette” (Nutter) Bierer and her husband Charles of Bridgeport. Her granddaughter, Lindsey Michelle (Bierer) Harrison and her husband Mark of Maple Lake and grandson, Adam Michael Roach of Salem. Great-grandchildren Anderson Mitchell, Mark “Tripp” Harrison III, and Tess Lenore Harrison of Maple Lake. Her beloved sister-in-law, Blonda (Nutter) Stickel of Salem. She is also survived by some that were very dear to her heart, Kathy (Moore) Howell and her husband Nick of Humble, TX, Becky (Harbert) Creamer and her husband Jake of Lumberport, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Proceeded in death by her first husband of 59 years, Walter Leon Nutter, son Earnest “Butch” Lee Maxson, daughter Crystal Michelle (Nutter) Roach, and grandson Walter “Walt” Edward Maxson, brothers James “Allen” Maxson, and Cecil “Jack” Maxson. Her second husband, Bernard Eugene Lattea, whom she married in 2009 proceeded her in death in 2018. Pauline graduated from Salem High School with the class of 1946 while her husband Walter was serving in the US Army in Germany. She worked at the glass factory in Salem as a decorator. She earned a license to sell insurance, but she found enjoyment as a homemaker. She loved having company in her home and receiving family and friends. Mrs. Nutter became a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist church in Miletus, Doddridge county on May 9th, 1954. One of the events that she looked forward to the most was sharing fellowship with her church family while making apple butter for the annual Salem Apple Butter Festival. Always quick to make others laugh, she will be deeply missed by those who loved her the most. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care provided by the Meadowview Manor Nursing Home and staff, Bridgeport. Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David McCauley presiding. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, October 13, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
