Thomas "Tommy" Hickman

January 4, 1953 - September 1, 2019

Thomas "Tommy" Hickman, 66 of Hickman Rd. Salem departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 4, 1953 in Clarksburg a son of the late Castle and Genevieve Elder Hickman.  On October 18, 1979 he married Mary Jo Gonzalez Hickman who survives.   Also surviving are two daughters, Jessica Hickman Fox and fiancé Sammy Saiz , Salem, Samantha Davis and husband Quintin, Salem one son, Travis Hickman and fiancé Kayla Kirk, Salem, three grandchildren, Castle and Levi Fox, Collin Davis, one sister, Barbara Stout and husband Richard, Salem. He was especially fond of his K-9 friends, Rosie, Lilly, Tucker and Lugnut.   Mr. Hickman was retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as a school teacher at Harden and Salem Elementary Schools with 35 year's service. He was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.  Tommy enjoyed gardening, latch hooking and spending time with his family.   Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W Main St. Salem on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Ford presiding.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday until time of service.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Hickman family.
